Verdict

Utrecht to Barcelona in a Tesla Model Y: about 1,430 km, four charging stops, 1 h 35 min at the charger and €110.

That is the example below; pick your own cities and car. Every stop is priced in the country where it falls, at the price you pay with a bank card and no account, so a subscription or a night on a hotel post will bring it down.

Pick where you start, where you are going and your car. You get the motorway distance, how many times you will stop to charge, how long that takes and what it costs, with each stop priced in the country where it falls. Every kWh is priced at the country's typical fast-charging price, the one you pay at the plug with a bank card and no account: the expensive case. A night on a hotel's AC post or at home costs less.

Tesla Model Y Premium AWD: 79 kWh usable, 17.8 kWh per 100 km, 28 min from 10 to 80%. Leaving with 100%, stopping at 10% and charging to 80%, or only as much as you need to arrive with 10%. Driving time is without traffic or breaks; charging time assumes a charger fast enough for the car and leaves out parking and plugging in. The 255 kWh the trip uses includes what was in the battery when you left, which is not in the bill.

Example without JavaScript: Utrecht to Barcelona in a Tesla Model Y Premium AWD in mild weather. Distances and driving times are worked out in advance between 158 cities on the motorway network, from © OpenStreetMap contributors data with the Valhalla route planner on the FOSSGIS server (1 October 2026). A road wrong on the map? Fix the map. Car figures are EV Database's estimates. Nothing you pick is saved or sent anywhere.

These are estimates, and the consumption is the biggest unknown. EV Database's motorway figure assumes about 110 km/h; at France's 130 a car uses noticeably more, and so it does with a roof box, a full car or a headwind. If you know your car's real motorway consumption, open "Change the car's figures" and put it in.

Your own route, country by country

If your city is not in the list, or you are taking a different road, put in the countries on your route and roughly how many kilometres you will drive in each. The calculator multiplies your car's consumption by each country's typical fast-charging price.
