We are the data controller for this website. If you have a question about your data, email us and we will answer within one month.

The short version

There are no accounts, newsletter, comment forms or contact forms. We never ask for your name or email.
There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no cookies.
Fonts, pictures and page code are served from this site. Nothing is loaded from Google or any other third party while you read.
The route checklist on the home page keeps your ticks, dates and own items in your browser, on your device. It is never sent to us.

What happens when you visit

Hosting. The site is delivered by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical request data (browser type, page requested, time) to deliver the page and protect the site against attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The route checklist. The countries you pick, your ticks, your departure and reminder dates and any items you add are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device, so they are still there next time. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to our server or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. The countries also appear in the page address (for example ?route=fr,de,at) so you can bookmark or share a route; that address contains no dates and nothing you typed. Clear everything with "Clear this checklist" or by clearing your browser's site data. Legal basis: storing it is strictly necessary for a feature you asked for (EU ePrivacy rules on terminal equipment); no personal data reaches us.

Adding dates to your calendar. "iPhone / Outlook (.ics)" builds a calendar file inside your browser; nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. "Google Calendar" is different: it opens Google's own page with the event title, date and description already filled in, so that text is sent to Google when you tap it. Nothing is sent until you tap, and once you do, Google's privacy policy applies.

Partner links. A link marked "Partner link" (currently DiscoverCars, for car hire) carries our partner ID in the address, so the partner can tell that you came from us if you book. Nothing is loaded from the partner while you read our pages: no banner, pixel or script. Once you click through, the partner's own privacy policy and cookie choices apply.

Links to other sites. Source links, official shops, place links that open Google Maps, and our sister site ParkingInEurope.com are ordinary links to other websites, with their own privacy policies.

Transfers outside the EU

Cloudflare may process data in the United States. It participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and uses the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Because we don't collect names, emails or accounts, we usually hold no personal data that could identify you.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example the one in the EU country where you live.
