Verdict

You pay for the whole period or you don't drive on the motorway.

Switzerland sells one vignette, CHF 40, for the whole of 2026. Slovenia's shortest is seven days for €16, and there is no daily vignette. A single afternoon costs the same as the full term.

Both countries have plate-based digital options and both fine you if you drive without one: CHF 200 in Switzerland, €300 in Slovenia. The rest of the vignette countries are on the overview.

Switzerland: CHF 40, valid 14 months

CHF 40 buys the 2026 Swiss vignette and nothing else, valid from 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2027, so a single afternoon on the A2 costs the same as a year of them. You can buy a sticker or the e-vignette, which is tied to the plate. The e-vignette is sold at via.admin.ch and at e-vignette.ch, which the customs office lists as its own address.

Driving without a valid one is a CHF 200 fine, and you still owe the CHF 40.

Slovenia: seven days is the floor

Slovenia has no daily vignette either: seven days for €16 is the floor, and the year is €117.50. The e-vignette is digital only and sold by evinjeta.dars.si, a subdomain of the motorway company DARS. Driving without it is a €300 fine.

Where to buy and what a reseller looks like: the reseller swarm. The motorways with a barrier instead of a vignette, from Croatia to Greece, are on the barrier tolls page.
