Tolls in Denmark 2026: the Great Belt and Øresund Bridges
Verdict
No vignette: you pay at two bridges, at a booth that takes cards, and an older diesel must be registered for the city zones.
The Great Belt costs a car 235 DKK one way at the booth; the Øresund Bridge to Sweden 470 DKK, or 420 DKK online.
A car driven from Hamburg to Copenhagen by the bridges pays once, at the Great Belt. Carry on to Malmö and the Øresund Bridge is the second booth.
There is nothing to buy before you go. The one thing to sort in advance is an older diesel: Denmark's city zones want it registered.
Pay the Great Belt Bridge at the Booth or by Plate
Storebælt, between Funen and Zealand, charges a car 3 to 6 m long 235 DKK one way at a booth, by card or cash. In the green express lanes, with a BroBizz tag or number-plate payment, it is 205 DKK.
The blue lanes take Visa, Mastercard, Dankort, American Express, Diners and JCB. The yellow lanes take cash in Danish kroner or euro.
Book the Øresund Bridge Online for Less
The bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö costs a car up to 6 m 470 DKK one way at the booth, and 420 DKK as an online ticket. Prices include VAT and are valid from 14 September 2026; the Swedish-language site gives them in kronor.
ØresundGO, a yearly agreement, cuts a trip to 182 DKK for a 370 DKK fee. It pays only if you cross often.
Register an Older Diesel for Denmark's Environmental Zones
Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg have environmental zones. A diesel car must be at least Euro 5 or have a particle filter. Petrol cars are not affected.
A foreign diesel car first registered before 1 January 2011 must be registered online, by the day it enters at the latest. The registration lasts five years. Driving in without it costs 1,500 DKK, or 1,000 DKK if you send the documents afterwards.
Across the bridge, Sweden bills its city tolls by number plate: tolls in Sweden.
Pay the two bridges at the booth, and register an older diesel before the city. Every price on this page was checked on the bridge operators' and Miljøzoner.dk's own sites on 5 October 2026.
