French Road Signs: What the Colours Mean, and the Signs Visitors Miss
Verdict
Blue takes you to the motorway, green to the big towns, white to local places.
The sign to learn before you go is AB1: at that junction, traffic from your right goes first. The town name sign is the other: from there the default limit is 50 km/h.
What the Colours of French Direction Signs Mean
The colour tells you what kind of destination a sign points to: blue for the motorway, green for the larger towns, white for local places.
