Verdict
Buy the rovinieta at portal.etoll.ro against your plate; since 1 October 2026 it costs more the older the car's engine.
A day costs RON 22 for a Euro 6 car, RON 20 for an electric car and RON 29 for Euro 0 to 3.
Romania's road vignette, the rovinieta, is bought online against your number plate: nothing goes on the glass.
Since 1 October 2026 the price depends on the car's emission class.

Cross the Danube Bridge at Calafat and Vidin
Crossing the Danube from Romania into Bulgaria at Calafat and Vidin costs a car €6 in each direction; entering Bulgaria you can also pay RON 30. Bulgaria then needs its own vignette: the Bulgarian page.
